Darling Point Sailing Squadron was established in the 1920s on the Wynnum-Manly foreshore and catered mainly for skiffs sailing from Darling Point. A clubhouse was built in the 1950s and moved to Norfolk Point, Manly Boat Harbour when that area of reclaimed land was opened for community clubs and organisations.
Today, DPSS still thrives on Norfolk Point with regaular Sunday sailing during the Summer season (September to April) and monthly sailing during the Winter season (May to August). Offering Learn to Sail courses for adults and children on Sunday mornings, a sailing pathway for those who wish to continue and afternoon racing for the competitive sailors.
The facilities at DPSS are used by other sailing organisations such as Sailability Bayside who operate Mondays and Thursdays during school terms.
