Mother’s Day in the Park 2019

Join us for a day of fun in the park as we showcase local school bands and other musical performers. We have a wonderful line up for this year’s event.​

9.00AM – MEEKA IRELAND
Meeka Ireland is an emerging young clarinettist from Wynnum. Since graduating high school in 2018, Meeka has begun her tertiary studies at the Jazz Music Institute where she is studying a Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Performance. In the future, Meeka hopes to achieve her degree and further her studies as a Jazz Clarinettist.
9.30AM – FAD
For over 30 years FAD Studios have steadily earned a reputation as being one of the most respected dance schools in the country. FAD Cheer and Dance offers Jazz, Hip Hop, Cheerleading and Tumbling classes from ages 1+!
10.00AM – THE SWINGALICIOUS BIG BAND
The Swingalicious Big Band was formed in 2013 by musicians young and old who all shared an interest in Big Band jazz. This community group rehearses regularly and performs just as often.
11.00AM – NOTESMASTERS MUSIC STUDIO PRESENTS
Notesmasters Music Studio is Redlands favourite singing, piano and recording studio for all ages and levels. Commencing in 1984 in the Blue Mountains of NSW and relocating to the Bayside in 2001, Donna Magrath has over 35 years music teaching, performing, composing, recording and mentoring experience for actors, soloists, bands and ensembles.
11.30AM – QUEENSLAND IRISH ASSOCIATION PIPE BAND
The QIAPB are a well renowned band in both domestic and international settings. Comprised of talented pipers and drummers, they are highly sought for their crowd pleasing repertoire of traditional Irish tunes, played in conjunction with pieces from other countries. 
12.15PM – CODY MILLER
Cody has been busking around Brisbane markets since the age of 14. He has been actively involved with performances for events in Manly becoming a regular performer at the annual Mothers’ Day in the Park and the Halloween Street Party.
12.45PM – BELLA COOKE
Bella Cooke is an 11 year old vocalist who is a fresh new face to the music scene and is currently training at Melodious Singing Studio. Over the past year Bella has been performing as a vocal soloist at community events, competing in Eisteddfods and most recently she took first place, junior section, at the Greater Springfield Fun Fair Singing Competition. Singing is her passion.
1.15PM – MOMENTUM
Momentum is a four-part harmony group of singers based at Tingalpa who have been singing together for 10 years. They perform about 8 times a year from their repertoire of contemporary popular music: from Beach Boys to Bonnie Tyler, or Sheppard to the Sapphires, and of course carols at Christmas.
1.45PM – BRIANNA FROST
From a young age Brianna has had a passion for all things music.  She has successfully participated in music festivals, eisteddfods, choirs, and musical theatre.  Brianna currently sings, plays piano and guitar and aspires to make a positive difference in people’s lives through her music.
2.00-3.00PM – CIA
Claiming It Anyway, also known as CIA, are a trio of brothers from Redland City. Currently breaking every stereotype of the modern music era – playing famous rock tunes from the 60’s to 2000’s and beyond, and performing them with passion! CIA released their first original studio album in December 2019 titled “No Shenanigans”, a 7 track LP with a real classic Australia rock feel.
