To assist with creating a beautiful place that the Manly community and visitors can enjoy, regular events such as the Jan Powers Farmers Markets and the Sunday Creative Markets are held. Monthly free Movies in the Park, adjacent to the boat harbour, also add to the vibrancy of the area.
As recently announced in The Courier Mail, the Brisbane City Council (BCC), as part of the Village Precincts Projects, will be engaging with the Manly community for input into ideas to further enhance this unique harbour-side village.
The project team will be looking to create a place with vibrant neighbourhood character, an inviting precinct for locals and visitors to shop, socialise and relax.
Improvements could include additional street furniture including bike racks and drinking fountains along with footpath upgrades and additional tree planting. Creative initiatives and public art will be used to create a focal point for the community.
The Lord Mayor, Adrian Schrinner, has committed 32 million dollars over four years to transform several precincts across the city. Manly Harbour Village has been identified as a precinct to be commenced his year.
Make sure you have your say in further enhancing one of Brisbane’s most unique harbour-side villages.
