For a number of years, as a ‘Thank You’ to the residence of Manly for their support throughout the year, the traders Manly Harbour Village Chamber of Commerce have put on New Year’s Eve fireworks both at 9pm for families and again at midnight.
The crowds have been significant each year with estimates in excess of 10,000. Unfortunately, this year, fireworks at Manly Harbour will not be staged. In lieu, the Manly Harbour Village Chamber of Commerce has, on behalf of the Manly traders, made a donation to the Red Cross Bush Fire Appeal to support families and communities who, in some cases, have lost everything. The donation was made via Clint and Lisa at the Manly Post Office.
We know a significant number of people, especially families, will be disappointed about there being no fireworks.
The Chamber is, however, still screening the fabulous musical extravaganza, The Greatest Showman at the Free Movies in the Park at 7pm. It will be a gorgeous night down beside the Harbour. Bring your camp chairs, takeaway food from the Village traders or food vendors in the park.
See out 2019 and welcome in 2020 at Manly Harbour Village.
